Homemade Brownies From Scratch

For many years, I never really gave much thought to the whole brownie making process.  Buy the box, add the wet ingredients, mix and bake.  Super simple right? I imagined that to make brownies from scratch must be a messy, labor intensive process so I never really looked into what it would take to make my own without the help of Duncan Hines. Once I took the time to look into it, I realized that making homemade brownies from scratch is quick, easy and delicious.  Ditch the box mixes people!  There is no comparison!

I do believe that if I put the directions into a picture format and helped with melting the butter, my five year old could make this recipe. The entire process can take place in one large sauce pan where you start by simply melting two sticks of butter.  Everything else is done off the heat and is followed by a series of adding ingredients and mixing. Once the mixture comes together in that all too perfect gooey chocolate batter, fold in some walnuts or peanut butter chips or whatever you enjoy.  Then it’s time to transfer to the baking pan, pop into the oven, and wait.

Pictures will follow…if they last long enough!
